Course objectives

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
The student will acquire in-depth knowledge of the physical and technological principles of neuroradiological methods, the anatomy and pathophysiology of the central and peripheral nervous system, as well as the main neurological and neurosurgical pathological frameworks.
APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
The student will be able to apply the knowledge acquired in the clinical-radiological interpretation of neuroradiological examinations, participating in the diagnostic process and contributing to the patient's classification and management.
MAKING JUDGMENTS
The student will develop the ability to critically integrate neuroradiological data with the patient's clinical picture, formulating diagnostic hypotheses, evaluating indications and limitations of different imaging methods, and recognizing urgent situations.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
The student will acquire the ability to clearly and appropriately communicate the results of the neuroradiological investigation, interacting effectively with the multidisciplinary team and contributing to the clinical discussion of the case.
LEARNING SKILLS
The student will develop independent learning skills, necessary for continuous development in neuroradiology, with particular attention to technological evolution and evidence-based medicine

Prerequisites

Human Anatomy

Teaching methods

Lectures and clinical teaching. During clinical teaching, students will be presented with clinical cases that will be conducted interactively and under the supervision and guidance of the instructor. On these occasions, the various phases of management in clinical practice, from diagnosis to therapy. Attendance at lessons and practical exercises is mandatory and will be recorded via the app. Student must have at least 75% attendance to access the profit exam

Assessment methods

The assessment of students' skills is based on an oral test (viva voce). The questions concern the basic aspects as well as the main aspects of the central nervous system. The questions will be as specific as possible to assess basic knowledge of the topic. This means that the student must know the key aspect, such as neuroradiology. The student should be able to discuss these topics and be able to connect and analyze the different topics. The final grade is expressed as 30/30, where 18/30 is the minimum score and 30/30 is the maximum score. The final grade is the average of the grades obtained in the exams of the Integrated Course modules
